Frozen authentic sushi, ready in 30 minutes,

Auckland, New Zealand, September 2009 – Pavé Consumer Brands has released Sushi Co's. frozen Authentic Sushi.  Now any foodservice business can serve authentic sushi that tastes delicious, in just 30 minutes.

There are five variants of Maki Sushi designed to meet the New Zealand taste profile for “lot’s of flavour”   ‘Prawn Mayonnaise with Avocado’, ‘Teriyaki Tuna, Red Capsicum with Avocado’, ‘Crab Surimi Mayonnaise with Avocado’, ‘Tempura Prawn with Teriyaki Sauce & Mayonnaise’, and ‘Tuna Mayonnaise, Carrot with Avocado’.

To achieve the best tasting sushi, it should be served and consumed at ambient temperatures contrary to popular belief that it should be refrigerated.  The NZFSA recognises that refrigerating sushi compromises the quality, texture and taste, therefore there are alternative safety measures used to make sure sushi is as safe as possible. Sushi Co. meets all of these measures.

With Sushi Co., businesses which do not have Sushi as their core offer  can meet the demand for this very popular food option, and be confident in the quality and consistency that meets all of the Food Safety standards, including the 'consume within four hours' rule.

“We have presented Sushi Co. to chefs and food service providers all over the country. Prior to tasting the product they’re intrigued about the concept of “Frozen Sushi” and wonder how it is possible," says Angela Wong, marketing director, Pavé Consumer Brands.

"
After tasting the product they almost always say:'wow, I can’t believe that that was frozen, you wouldn’t be able to tell. The taste is great.  And it only takes 30 minutes?  It’s going to solve a lot of our problems'.”

The flagship products are the 48-piece catering combo packs.  These include two trays of 24 pieces.  Each tray is a different variant, which means more variety to improve your offer.  There are four combo options to choose from.
